Fisker Inc is a Los Angeles based electric vehicle automaker company, founded by Henrik Fisker. It was officially launched in 2016, after its predecessor company Fisker Automobile got bought by a Chinese conglomerate Wanxiang Group.
An interesting fact about this company is that it went public this year thanks to a SPAC merger by the name of Spartan Energy Acquisition Corp. On October the 30th, Fisker has been publicly listed on the New York Stock Exchange, acquiring the ticker symbol FSR. We’ve seen electric companies go public via a SPAC merger, like with Lucid.
Foreword
Automobility LA 2021 got off to a crashing start this week. Fisker Inc. was one of the first automakers to exhibit in the LA Convention Center’s South Hall, which was accompanied by the soothing sound of waves crashing on the coast. It’s an appropriate name for a new electric vehicle named after the sea, from a firm whose logo is similarly based on the water.
Henrik Fisker, CEO of the company, held a presentation there revealing specifications, price groups, and important new features. Fisker Ocean, the SUV that was presented, is not expected to enter the markets until November next year. At the time of this writing, the company’s stock is trading at $21,29.

Sub-4 second acceleration to 100km/h for mid and high-level models is no small feat. Most recent dimension announcements indicate the following: 4.77 meters long, 1.99 meters wide and 1.63 meters high. Still, Fisker Ocean might have a hard time competing – Hyundai IONIQ 5 and Tesla Model Y are already on the market and killing it.
The solar roof will be a feature reserved for One and Extreme versions, according to Fisker. It may provide up to 1,500 miles of range each year. With that in mind, customers will likely acquire the majority of their electricity from charging. Fisker earlier said that the Ocean would be capable of up to 250 kilowatts of DC rapid charging. Fisker also announced that vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-home charging, which the company calls PowerHouse, will be standard at the L.A. unveiling.
As for the interior, materials in the Fisker Ocean will consist of recycled plastic bottles, fishing nets and aluminum, among others. The interior has a cool feature – a rotating 17.1-inch infotainment screen, similar to the one we’ve seen in BYD Han.
There is also the “California Mode”, which rolls all the windows down with a simple press of a button. It seems like overkill from their side, but we figured Fisker wanted something to distinguish itself from other EVs.
Special Pricing Model
Besides using the standard model to buy the car, Fisker offers an option of a monthly “lease”. The firm has announced that leasing would begin at $379 per month. The program will demand a $2,999 deposit initially, and will cover all repair and maintenance charges according to Fisker. The leases will be flexible, with Fisker guaranteeing one-month, eight-month, 22-month, and multi-year terms. Also, the annual mileage limit will be a reasonable 30,000 kilometers. Fisker will also provide a pick-up and delivery service for repairs and maintenance.
