Kia EV6 wins “What Car?” Car of the Year 2022

The Kia EV6 has won the ‘Car of the Year’ award at the reputable 2022 What Car? Awards.

Initially released on the 2nd of August 2021, KIA EV6 was the type of car that made a lot of heads turn. Sharp lines with an aggressive front presented a deviation from the previous electric vehicles KIA was famous for. Nevertheless, the car quickly gained on population thanks to its looks alongside performances that met all expectations.

As for the story in mind today, KIA EV6 received the “Car of the Year” award together with “Electric SUV of the Year”, based on the extensive research conducted by the “What Car?” team.

KIA entered the crossover SUV market with a long-range, zero-emission power, 800V ultra-fast charging, and a unique appearance. On the WLTP combined cycle, the EV6 can achieve up to 528 kilometers of driving range from a single charge, while revolutionary 800V charging technology allows drivers to charge from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

It’s Kia’s first dedicated battery-electric car, and it shows off the company’s new Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), with six more dedicated electric vehicles expected to hit the market by 2026. Kia plans to electrify its entire car lineup in Europe by 2035, with other major markets following suit by 2040.
